Tanzanian Makonde carvers (19 images)

For this project I photographed the famous Makonde woodcarving tribe in Mtwara Tanzania. I collected the photographs into a book and an exhibition called "A story of Black Wood". The book was published in Fall 2007, currently only in a Finnish-language edition.
